SearchEngineWorld Back Online

SearchEngineWorld, the site that originally hosted the forum that would become WebmasterWorld is back online.

I had seen articles and video on WebmasterWorld with the SEW name and logo attached to them for the last few months but this is the first time I have seen that the site is live. Since there hasn’t been any real fanfare (yet) it appears that SEW is either being rolled out quietly or we’re getting an early sneak peak.  Regardless, Search Engine World looks like it will be a very worthwhile resource offering both print and video news content on Search and related technology topics.

SearchEngineWorld originally emerged in 1999  as a resource site offering tools, glossary and information related to Search.  It also included a discussion area where webmasters could exchange their ideas  and theories on the emerging industry.  In 2000 that forum was spun onto it’s own domain where it thrived and grew.

For several years Search Engine World and WebmasterWorld oprerated as complimentary resources with WMW continuing to grow at a phrenetic pace.  WMW began to require so much of Brett’s time and attention (Brett Tabke - SEW/WMW founder) that in 2004 SEW was placed on hold with the index page stating, “Back in a few days, weeks, months, or years ;-) “.

Prophetic words.
